Five Books To Add To Your Reading List

Reading has always been one of my favorite hobbies, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve enjoyed exploring new genres and new authors. After each book I read, I always give it my own personal ranking out of five stars. These are some of my favorite books I’ve read and definitely recommend you do too.

1.     Layla by Colleen Hoover

Source: Goodreads

Layla is a paranormal romance by Colleen Hoover. A basic synopsis of this novel is that after a couple faces a nearly fatal accident, the two work on reviving their relationship by visiting the B&B they first met at. I can’t give you much more information without spoiling the whole novel, but do know that I read this book in one day. The twists and turns of this rollercoaster are addicting, and it’s not quite what you expect it to be.

2.     The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

Source: Amazon

The Silent Patient was also a very quick read for me. This thriller tells the story of Alicia Berenson, who killed her husband and stopped speaking. Years later, with Alicia still not speaking, a psychotherapist named Theo Faber takes interest in finding out what really happened to her. This book was also heavily addicting, and I never wanted to put it down.

3.     Go Ask Alice

Source: Amazon

I read this book years ago and still think about it to this day. Especially if you’re a fan of Euphoria, this one’s for you. This novel explores the diary of a young woman struggling with her addiction. It’s also a very short book, so if you don’t want to dedicate too much time, it’s perfect for you.

4.     The Hating Game by Sally Thorne

Source: Amazon

If you love romance and the enemies-to-lover trope, this novel is perfect to add to your reading list. The two main characters are co-workers who absolutely despise each other. But as the book goes on, they find that maybe that hate is actually something else. This book was also adapted into a movie a month or so ago, but of course, the book is better than the movie.

5.     It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover

This has to be my favorite book of all time. It does deal with some serious topics, such as domestic abuse, so make sure to check out the trigger warnings before buying. There is a bit of a love triangle throughout the story, but the main theme in the book is not about romance. It deals with a much deeper and heavier topic that I think everyone should read about.
