My Favorite Pieces for Winter

Here are some of my favorite winter looks and styles to stay both warm and chic during the colder months. Instead of buying these winter trends and pieces from your favorite fast-fashion brand, try going thrifting or vintage shopping for some new pieces. Check out how LIM students are wearing these trends below.

Puffer Jacket

New Yorkers are known for wearing black puffer jackets once it starts getting chilly out. It is such a staple piece for winter, and you can find them in a bunch of different styles. If you’re tired of wearing your old puffer jacket, check out puffer vests or a leather puffer jacket for a change.

Leather Pants/Leggings

I am sure you have seen everyone wearing Aritzia vegan leather pants. If you are still hesitant to buy a pair of leather pants or leggings, now is the time. The leather pants and leggings that I own both are lightly lined with fur and they keep me warm all day. It is a great staple to have in your wardrobe for an easy outfit that looks chic and still comfortable. It is also effortless to dress leather pants up or down.

Blazers

You might associate blazers with interviews and meetings, but they can actually be dressed down pretty easily. I love styling my plain black blazer for a layering piece to my winter outfits and I have even purchased a deep burgundy blazer for a different look. You can have fun with this trend and style an outfit that makes you feel powerful and confident.

Earmuffs

Earmuffs are my favorite winter accessory. I have curly, thick hair so it is hard to wear beanies or winter hats to keep my ears and head warm during the colder months. Earmuffs are a quick easy way to keep you warm without worrying about hat hair.

Beige/Brown Monochromatic Looks

This has been my favorite winter look recently. I have been loving beige monochromatic looks for the winter. Since people tend to wear darker colors in the winter months, it is nice to see brighter colored looks. You can style any outfit monochromatic, but browns and beige are currently trending.
