Patrick J. Clayton Productions Internship: Week 1 Recap

The spring semester is now in full swing and that means internships are as well. I am here to tell you all about my first week at my internship at Patrick J. Clayton Productions. How was I able to find this position you might wonder? One word: Networking.

A LIM alumni, Maggie Canty, visited the First-Year-Experience class I was mentoring and talked all about her work with Patrick J. Clayton Productions. Instantly, I was intrigued because of the thorough job description she gave, and quite frankly, I knew I needed to land an internship for the spring.

After Maggie was finished with her presentation I made sure to connect with her on social media and also got her email address. I decided to send a follow-up email and express my gratitude and interest in the company. Within two days I had interviewed and landed my new position as a Social Media intern at PJCP.

Without further ado, here is what I did during the first week of my internship.

Monday:

  1. Assembled and packed “At Home Experience” boxes for Hyatt Hotels

  2. Assisted the social media manager with photographing the Hyatt Hotels box for Instagram.

  3. Helped assemble a window display for Dylan’s Candy Bar on Hudson Yards.

  4. Reviewed the social media posting schedule with the manager.

  5. Reviewed the PJCP company deck to gain a better understanding of their expectations and visions for the future.

  6. At the end of the day, the other LIM interns and I were gifted a tee-shirt, candle, and a notebook with some stickers to decorate.

Friday:

  1. We had a bagel breakfast with the team.

  2. I worked on tagging photos with words and phrases that would drive up SEO on Square Space.

  3. Checked the social media accounts of influencers and editors that received “At Home Experience” boxes to see if they were posting them.

  4. Assisted the team in building lockers for an event.

That is everything I did this week at Patrick J. Clayton Productions. Stay tuned for more recaps.
